Hiring Process
The department has both tested and no-tested positions.
IF EXAM IS
REQUIRED
Biologist (Wildlife and
Fisheries), Game Warden, Technician
(Wildlife and Fisheries)
1. Take the
Department’s Standardized Employment Exams.

a. Letters will be sent to the
applicants notifying them of their score.
b. The top scoring candidates will be
asked to submit an application for
employment.
2. When an opening
occurs:
A. Applicants will be selected for
interviews.
B. Up to 4 applicants per vacancy will be selected for interviews.
3. Selection for employment will be made on the basis of the combined results of tests, interview and back-ground investigation.
Background Investigation: A thorough background investigation will be conducted by the Department on each selected applicant. The investigation will include contacting references such as previous employers and others who have significant dealing with the candidate.
IF EXAM IS NOT REQUIRED
Information/Education Specialists, Internship, Biologist Aide, secretary, telephone interviewer and temporary positions
1. Download an employment application from the Web site.
2. Application will be reviewed and interviews set up.
3. Selection for employment will be made on the basis of the combined results of tests, interview and back-ground investigation.
