The
Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is involved in two
on-going bobwhite quail research projects in western Oklahoma.
Research topics range from habitat and population dynamics to
potential diseases. For additional information on ODWC quail
research efforts,

Biologists and technicians are banding quail on ten Wildlife
Management Areas across Oklahoma’s Rolling Plains region—Beaver
River, Cooper, Cimarron Hills, Ellis County, Canton, Black
Kettle, Packsaddle, Sandy Sanders, Mountain Park and Hackberry
Flat. Banding efforts on most of these areas will continue into
2013. Banding on Beaver River and Packsaddle WMA’s will continue
into 2017.
Submitting the below information from your harvest helps
researchers better understand Oklahoma’s quail population and
allows you to be a part of our conservation efforts.
