Category 7 - Spring Turkey Hunts (2010)

 

 

Minimum age requirements for Controlled Hunts is 14. Up to two (2) hunters may apply together, except McAlester AAP applicants must apply in pairs. Up to three (3) hunt choices may be selected. Applicants may apply using an apprentice-designated license. However, they must be hunter education certified prior to participating in the turkey hunt OR they must apply in a group with an accompanying, licensed hunter 21 years old or older who possesses a certificate of hunter education or is exempt from either hunter education requirements or hunting license requirements.

Hunters are required to attend a mandatory meeting at Refuge Headquarters on Friday.

Restricted to federally approved non-toxic shot only.

Hunt begins at noon Friday and ends at noon Sunday.

Must apply in pairs. Background checks will be conducted on all successful applicants and convicted felons will not be allowed. Hunts may be cancelled at any time. A $25 Federal User Fee is required to participate in the hunt.

Applicants must report to area headquarters at noon on Friday to attend a mandatory pre-hunt briefing.
