The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and the Friends of Hackberry Flat are offering a tour of the wetland at night from the Hackberry Flat Center located south of Frederick starting at 7:30 pm and ending at 11 pm on Saturday, August 12th. Come discover a wetland after dark and learn about how some wildlife are best adapted to the night life. Visitors will travel by seated trailer into the wetland and try various techniques to bring wildlife a little closer. Evening will conclude with a campfire, if not in a burn ban and weather permits. Event is free. Space is limited and reservations are required. Participants must be at least 14 years old to participate. To get to the Hackberry Flat Center, from Frederick, go south from the south edge of town one mile on Hwy 183, then turn east on Airport Road and go three miles. Follow the blacktop road south, and continue six miles. Watch for Center signs.
