What’s New for 2021–2022 Fishing

The following are brief descriptions of fishing regulation changes for 2021-2022. This summary of regulation changes is intended to be used as a reference only. You are required to be familiar with all the changes to regulations that apply to each of these items.

In addition to general housekeeping changes and reorganization of Title 800, fishing regulation changes for 2021-2022 include the following:

  • *New* combined three-fish bag limit for Close to Home waters
  • *New* combined three-trout statewide limit (effective September 11, 2021)
  • Removal of Monday and Friday catch and release requirement for paddlefish
  • Alligator gar catch and release permitted only with rod and reel
  • Removal of restrictions on tiger muskie
  • Changed labeling requirements for fishing equipment (use Customer ID number)
  • Reduced snagging restrictions on the Arkansas River
  • Allowed non-motorized boats on Doc Hollis Lake
