Bird Watching and Bird Feeding

Everything you could ever want to know about birding, bird feeding and bird identification will be covered at Expo. A complete bird feeding station and observation blind is provided by the OK Master Naturalists Program. Members will be on hand to provide tips on feeding and identifying birds in you backyard.

On Friday school children will learn about bird watching optics through a field course where you track down a variety of avian species with help from the Cleveland County Audubon Society and the American Association of Zookeepers from the OKC Zoo.

There will be an indoor  “safari” to capture photographic images of birds and other wildlife with a prize provided by the Oklahoma Wildlife and Prairie Heritage Alliance.

Learn how a wetland is created and why the wetland at Hackberry Flat attracts waterfowl, shorebirds and wading birds.
