WEEKLY SOCIAL MEDIA
EDITOR’S CHOICE
By Sarah Southerland, Communication Specialist
Each week on the Wildlife Department’s social media outlets,
we welcome viewers to submit their fine outdoor photography
for a fun feature we call the Weekly Editor’s Choice Photo
Lineup. Of all the great photos posted to the ODWC pages on
Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, we select our top three favor-
ites (and maybe an honorable mention or two) for the week, and
share the winners on our social media for all to see.
Now, we are sharing the cream of the crop here in Outdoor
Oklahoma magazine. So, be sure to check out ODWC social
media, and post those photos for the weekly contest. Your cre-
ation might end up in Outdoor Oklahoma!
Anslee Atnip got her first turkey while hunting with her dad, Tyler Atnip,
on opening morning of youth spring season at Hickory Creek Wildlife
Management Area.
The better angler: immature bald eagle photographed by Jerry Spears.
‘I have to brag on my son. After a long week of not catching anything at
Beavers Bend, on our last day, we spotted a stubborn trout. After extreme
dedication, the fish finally bit the hook and my son, Garrison, finally
made the catch with a barbless hook. After 10 minutes of trying to wear
it out and keeping pressure on the line, he finally pulled in a rare 23-inch
golden rainbow trout. A catch of a lifetime! My heart was racing, and I
Richard Taylor’s curious river otter. was beyond excited!’ — Robin Hanna, March 2021.
