West Gulf Coastal Plain: Pasture
Area: 403,877 acres (163,443 ha)
Description of Mapped Type: This type is mainly represented by grazed pastures with non-
native and grazing-tolerant species in the modern landscape. Common species may include
Bermudagrass, little bluestem, prairie broomweed, prairie tea, tall fescue, field brome, and
Johnsongrass. Woody species may include winged elm, sugar hackberry, possumhaw, green
ash, and eastern redcedar.
