High Plains: Bottomland Hardwood Forest

               Area: 453,856acres (183,669 ha)
               Description of Mapped Type:  This type is mapped on bottomland soils across a variety of
               hydrologic regimes and various stages of disturbance.  Typical canopy trees include plains
               cottonwood, bur oak, western soapberry, boxelder, American elm, green ash, honeylocust,
               Siberian elm, and pecan.
