Exotic Species
Currently there are two known species of exotic mussels in Oklahoma, the Asian
Clam and the Zebra Mussel. The Asian Clam probably first entered the state in the late
1960’s or early 1970’s. The Zebra Mussel was first reported in Oklahoma in 1993.
