Ozark-Ouachita: Montane Stunted Oak Woodland

               Area: 1,053 acres (426 ha)
               Description of Mapped Type:  This type is mapped at the highest elevations of the Ouachita
               Mountains in Latimer and LeFlore counties. Gnarled white oaks often dominate the sites, with
               post oak, blackjack oak, black hickory, and mockernut hickory also present.  Other woody
               components include white fringetree, hophornbeam, common serviceberry, and Blue Ridge
               blueberry.
