Oklahoma Master Angler Recognition Form

Before submitting this form, you should have already submitted four qualifying fish entries. This fifth entry completes the requirement for the Master Angler award. Once you submit, ODWC staff will review all your entries to confirm your eligibility for the award.

You can apply again each time you reach another milestone of five qualifying fish, such as 10, 15, or 20.

Submission Guidelines

To be considered for this award, fish must meet or exceed the minimum length requirement listed on the Minimum Size Restriction Chart. Entries for this award must submit a completed entry form and comply with the following rules:

  1. Fish must be taken in Oklahoma waters following the Oklahoma fishing regulations. Fish taken from hatcheries or free-fishing areas are not eligible.
  2. Only fish caught on hook and line are eligible (rod and reel, cane pole, trotline, limbline, jugline) and must be played by only one person.
  3. Fish should be measured on a flat surface from the tip of the snout to the end of the tail with the mouth closed and tail lobes pressed together.
  4. A clear photograph showing a close-up side view of the fish must accompany the completed affidavit. The photo must show the fish lying flat on the measuring tape or other appropriate measuring
device to verify species and length.
  5. If you believe your catch exceeds the current state record for that species, you must immediately contact a Wildlife Department employee to provide the Oklahoma Record Fish Rules and Regulations, witness the weighing of the fish, and complete the affidavit form to be certified as a State Fish Record Holder.
