Location: Hulah Wildlife Management Area Shooting Range
Location Coordinates: 36°57'54.3"N 96°11'41.9"W
Purpose: To provide an opportunity for the public to comment on a new public shooting range, identify specific issues, and/or environmental impacts that can be addressed in the Draft Environmental Assessment for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC).
Need: The proposed need is to complete an environmental assessment (EA) including environmental studies and to arrive at either a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) or complete an Environmental Impact Study (EIS) pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for the project described below:
Hulah Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is 16,162-acres located in Osage County, Oklahoma. The proposed site for the public shooting range on Hulah WMA is approximately 45 acres in size, located east of Hwy OK-99 and south of Caney River at 36°57'54.3"N 96°11'41.9"W.
Proposed plans include construction of one 400-yard rifle range, one 200-yard rifle range, one 100-yard rifle range, and one 25-yard pistol range with covered metal shooting stations including 4-6 shooting benches/tables for all four ranges; an archery tower/range; appropriate fencing and gates; restrooms; entrance road; and associated parking lots and pathways. All range components will include ADA parking and access.
Estimated timeline to complete the EA, engineering, and construction is 3-5 years.
The proposed shooting range site is located on property owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), under license for operations and management by the ODWC, and funded by the ODWC and United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).

Purpose: To provide an opportunity for the public to comment on a new public shooting range, identify specific issues, and/or environmental impacts that can be addressed in the Draft Environmental Assessment for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC).
Need: The proposed need is to complete an environmental assessment (EA) including environmental studies and to arrive at either a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) or complete an Environmental Impact Study (EIS) pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for the project described below: Waurika Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is 10,580-acres located in Cotton and Stephens Counties, Oklahoma. The proposed site for the public shooting range on Waurika WMA is
approximately 70 acres in size, located in Cotton County, south of Hwy 53 and approximately one mile east of the N2700/E1840 county road intersection at 34°20'53.1"N 98°09'36.4"W.
Proposed plans include construction of a 200-yard rifle range and a 50-yard pistol range with covered metal shooting stations including 4-6 shooting benches/tables for each range; a shotgun/trap range with a concrete pad; an archery tower/range; appropriate boundary fencing and gates; restrooms; and associated parking lots and pathways. All range components will include ADA parking and access.
