Fishing Report

We know that fishing in Oklahoma can be good nearly all year round but the peak time for most species and anglers is March to June, which is when we require reports to be submitted. If there is a particular lake you would like to know about during the non-required report time you can contact the county game warden or a local bait shop to check on the lake conditions before heading out.

Black bass fishing continues to be fair to good using spinnerbaits, soft creature baits, and shallow crankbaits. Good luck! Wear your PFD and take someone fishing today!

Additional Information:
Lake Tenkiller is three (3) feet below normal but with recent rains, the Upper Illinois River his rising and bringing much needed water into the watershed. Summertime Crappie has been good for those who know how to find them around brush structure and cover. The summertime bite can be as good as spring spawn. Also, late night lantern fishing is great for crappie and sandbass. Beat the heat and try a night time fishing adventure if you have not done so. Tenkiller is known as a great bass fishing destination but the bite has been slower as fish are really scattered in deeper mid-lake schools. Good luck! Brady

Locations: Brush structure, Channels, Standing timber

We know that fishing in Oklahoma can be good nearly all year round but the peak time for most species and anglers is March to June, which is when we require reports to be submitted. If there is a particular lake you would like to know about during the non-required report time you can contact the county game warden or a local bait shop to check on the lake conditions before heading out.
