Fishing Reports

We know that fishing in Oklahoma can be good nearly all year round but the peak time for most species and anglers is March to June, which is when we require reports to be submitted. If there is a particular lake you would like to know about during the non-required report time you can contact the county game warden or a local bait shop to check on the lake conditions before heading out.

Lower Illinois River PFHA Report

Jul 19. Elevation is 1.5 ft. above normal (stable), water temperature 63°F and clear.

Trout, Rainbow Good on caddis flies, in-line spinnerbaits, midges, nymphs, PowerBait, worms around below the dam, shallows, shorelines.

Comments: Current river flow 775 CFS

Texoma Report

Bass, Striped Fair on Alabama rig, live shad, sassy shad, slabs, topwater lures around channels, dam, main lake, points.

Comments: Fishing this week has been tough. Striper have changed from trolling earlier in the week to live bait again. They are we still catching them by trolling, live bait and some topwater action here and there. A few people are using slabs and catching them also. Catfish are being caught on live shad around ledges and channels. Crappie are being caught in open water with jigs and minnows.
