Fishing Reports

We know that fishing in Oklahoma can be good nearly all year round, but the peak time for most species and anglers is March to June, which is when we require reports to be submitted. 

If there is a particular lake you would like to know about during the non-required report time, you can contact the county game warden or a local bait shop to check on the lake conditions before heading out.

Fort Gibson Report

Apr 6. Elevation is 5.5 ft. above normal (rising), water temperature 62°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level)

Bass, Largemouth, Bass, Smallmouth Fair on bill baits, crankbaits, jerk baits, jigs around brush structure, creek channels, shorelines.

Crappie, Black, Crappie, White Fair around below the dam, coves, inlet, shorelines.

Catfish, Blue, Catfish, Channel Good.

Sooner Lake Report

Apr 6. Elevation is 1.5 ft. below normal (stable), water temperature 56°F and stained.

Catfish, Blue, Catfish, Channel Fair on cut bait, punch bait, worms around main lake.

Bass, Largemouth Slow on jerk baits, plastic baits around brush structure, rocks, weed beds.

Bass, Striped Hybrid, Saugeye Slow on jigs, live shad, minnows around main lake, points, riprap.

Kaw Lake Report

Texoma Report

Crappie, Black, Crappie, White Good on hair jigs, jigs, minnows, nymphs around brush structure, coves, docks, points, standing timber.

Comments: Fishing this week has been good. Striper are feeding on live shad near channels and ledges. Catfish are feeding near river channels on live bluegill and live shad. Crappie are bring on jigs with power bait and hair jigs around brush piles suspended in 8-14ft of water.
