U.S. Corps of Engineers manages campgrounds and boat ramps.

Walleye are stocked and brush piles are put into the lake for fish habitat.

Easy access to the water's edge is available in many of the public-use areas. The concrete walk along the spillway is also accessible.

Mar 17. Elevation is 1 ft. above normal (stable), water temperature 50°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level)

Bass, White Good on crankbaits, hair jigs, in-line spinnerbaits, jerk baits, jigs, lipless baits, minnows, sassy shad, small lures, spoons around creek channels, river channel, shorelines.

Crappie, Black, Crappie, White Good on grubs, jigs, live bait, minnows, tube jigs around brush structure, creek channels, riprap, standing timber.

Paddlefish Excellent on snagging around below the dam, river channel.

Comments: White bass and paddlefish are making their first runs up the arkansas river east of newkirk. Some whits bass staged at the mouth of little beaver creek. Lots of paddlefish (residents) below Kaw Dam up to 65 pounds. Crappie in deep holes of creeks and main lake over structure.
